Situated in Bramaterra, within the larger Alto Piemonte region, Tenuta Monolo farmed the volcanic soils of the region organically and respectfully, with vines dedicated to Nebbiolo, Croatina, Vespolina, and Uva Rara. Monolo produced wines from 1982-2004 that went straight to library, finally made available. The 1996 is aromatic and spicy, with notes of tart cherry and pepper. Serve with game, risotto, and all things truffle.
