The 2004 vintage in Barbaresco was marked by a late start (abundant rains early on), strong summer temperatures, and slow-ripening fruit due to a cooler fall. This vintage was seen as a breath of fresh air after the challenging two previous vintages. Wines from great producers are perfumed, supple, and overall great quality.
